Goals / Objectives
- To identify potential virulence genes responsible for citrus HLB.
- To functionally validate key virulence genes.
- To screen antimicrobial compounds and evaluate the effect of these chemicals on target genes through in vitro and in vivo experiments.

We will take multiple approaches, including biochemistry, phytopathology and physiology, genetics and systems biology, to understand the mechanistic basis of citrus-HLB. We will design a high-throughput anti-microbial screening system to characterize the effect of anti-microbial molecules and develop practical control method for HLB management.
