Goals / Objectives
  1. Conduct larger-scale field trials with three different locations along with different citrus varieties (a total of 180 trees) to evaluate the thermal effects on Las bacterial population dynamics, plant growth and productivity.
  2. Develop a mathematical model to predict the time duration required for the best outcome, which will use the data generated from previous and future trials.
Methods (unparsed)

The heat treatment will be conducted in the fields using portable greenhouse. We will use real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) to quantify the bacterial titers before and after heat treatment, and measure yields (productivity) of treated and non-treated citrus plants.
